Prayer Points for March 2024

01. No distraction – With so many things to distract us, pray that we will be men who prioritize our personal time seeking closeness to God. “But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you”. (Matthew 6:33)

02. Transformation – The world beckons for our attention to conform us into its mold. Pray for men to be transformed by renewing their mind in God’s Word. “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is”. (Romans 12:2)

03. Submission – Distraction means to lose traction. Pray that we will have deep tread on our spiritual tires when it comes to pursuing God. “Submit

therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you”. (James 4:7)

 04. God’s shelter – Pray for men to cultivate an ongoing sense of God’s presence in every area of life. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty”. (Psalms 91:1)

05. God’s Word – Lord, grant us the desire and discipline to hide Your Word in our hearts that we might not sin against You. “Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You”. (Psalms 119:11)

06. True goodness – Dear Lord Jesus, I thought that I was good because I was doing good. Now I realize that the Source of all true goodness comes from You alone. I now confess that any human good which I have achieved is mere filthy rags. Please enable me to do good as You live Your life through me. (Matthew 19:17,26)

07. A God thing – Oh Lord God, I feel like I am at an impasse. You offer a way to start over with a new beginning. I ask You to make a way where there is no way. I submit to You and Your way for me. Cause me to constantly look to You to lead the way. Grant me the grace to boldly step out by faith wherever You may lead. (Isaiah 43:19)

08. The Master teacher – Oh Lord, I have tried so hard to be a good disciple, but I have failed miserably. Now I understand that being a good disciple is something only You can do. You are the Good Master and only You can make me a good disciple. Please, live Your life through me. Thank You for causing me to be a true disciple. (Matthew 5:1,2)

09. True righteousness – Oh Lord, motivate me to become more desperate for You than anything else. Cause me to hunger and thirst for Your righteous life. I realize that once I am filled with You I have everything I need. I ask You to fill me with Your righteous life. Thank You for giving me Your life and supplying all my needs. (Matthew 5:6)

10. Peacemakers – Dear God, in a world filled with conflict and strife, we desperately need peace. You alone are the source of peace and the true peacemaker. I reject all negative, argumentative attitudes that would hinder Your peace in my life. Fill me with Your Spirit and cause me to be a peacemaker. (Matthew 5:9)

 11. Hate – “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you” (Luke 6:27). Whatever originated hate, this intense dislike that encourages the elimination of others, it is from the evil one. Jesus demonstrated God’s way. Pray to be a man led by His Spirit and be ready to live a counterculture of godly love.

12. Forgiveness – “But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions” (Matthew 6:15). Pray for a new understanding of the work on the cross and the enormous load of guilt Christ has forgiven you. Then it will be much easier to also forgive and extend the same grace God has given you to others.

13. Worship – “The true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth” (John 4:23). When a culture rejects biblical absolutes and puts individual rights to choose before what is right or wrong, it has become idolatrous. Be a worshiper in the Spirit as you humbly commit to God’s truth revealed in Jesus Christ.

14. Knowledge – “Every prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool displays folly” (Proverbs 13:16). Knowledge is what one acquires by knowing facts through experience or education. Ask for godly wisdom to enter your heart, so that you can discern and be a prudent leader in your family and wherever God places you.

15. Fisher – “And Jesus said to them, follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men” (Mark 1:17). Like fish lost in the vast ocean, so sin distanced men from their Creator. But Christ died on the cross to draw all men to Himself. (John 12:32) Pray to be a disciple who learns from Him the art of being a fisher of men.

16. Born again – “How can a man be born again when he is old?” (John 3:4) Only a miracle can bring new life to the old human spirit, dead in sin and transgression. That is why Jesus died, paying the penalty of our sin on the cross. Through faith in Him, we receive new life and are born into the family of God. Are you born again?

17. Profit – The exchange of goods and services for profit is a good way to reward those who are diligent and efficient. But life is more than what money can buy. Therefore, invest your heart first into the eternal values of God’s Kingdom. “For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?” (Luke 9:25)

 18. Maturing – Lack of guidance causes many adolescents to miss developmental milestones and they fear growing up. Help your children to explore adulthood with excitement. “When I was a child I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man I did away with childish things”. (1 Corinthians 13:11)

19. Faith resistance – Life is a constant opportunity to choose between right and wrong. Through Scripture we have the Eternal Rock to stand on and the spiritual weapon to fight any spiritual battle. Believe it! The Lord is your helper! With Him you are a majority even against the evil one! “But resist him, standing firm in your faith”. (1 Peter 5:9)

20. Anger – “For the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God” (James 1:20). If you are a hot-tempered man, then start today the most important battle of your life. Pray for victory over your will, as you submit to becoming Christ’s disciple. Believe that He is able to take full control over your temper.

21. Only few – “For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:14). If you are passionate about sharing the Gospel and seeing people come to Christ, don’t give up even if only few answer the call. Pray to be a clean vessel. Allow for the life of Christ to be reflected through you.

22. Governance – “When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when a wicked man rules, people groan” (Proverbs 29:2). The spread of the Gospel promotes moral values and encourages righteous living. Be a messenger of hope and pray for those in authority to know what is right and to govern in the fear of God.

23. Stiff-necked – “A man who hardens his neck after much reproof will suddenly be broken beyond remedy” (Proverbs 29:1). Real masculinity is strength under control and invested for the good of others. But all human effort is faulty, and we all need correction. Pray for true humility to submit when reproofed. Don’t be stiff-necked!

24. Deliverance – “Deliver those who are taken away to death, and those who are staggering to slaughter, oh hold them back!” (Proverbs 24:11) The worldwide sexual traffic and domestic abuse of women are the devil’s work. Christ wants to bring freedom and honor to every woman. Be a man who consciously promotes their deliverance.

25. Besetting sin – “Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us” (Hebrews 12:1). The statement: “Evil teaches tolerance until it is dominant” applies to our society and to our own personal life. Be wise in your choices and determined to live a holy life because without holiness nobody will see God.

26. Given over – “God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper” (Romans 1:28). The worst that can happen to someone who rejects the appeal of the Holy Spirit is to be given over by God. Be alert! Pray for a sensitive heart and practice immediate obedience even to the Lord’s small voice.

27. In spite of – “Yet I will exalt in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation” (Habakkuk 3:18). God’s eternal purposes for His wayward people include times of suffering and hardship. Nevertheless, we can always trust Him for the outcome as Habakkuk the prophet did. Determine to honor God despite your difficult circumstances.

28. Embittered – “When my heart was embittered and I was pierced within, then I was senseless and ignorant” (Psalms 73:21). By suffering injustice and by watching evil to go unpunished, it is easy to become embittered. In those moments, bend your knees and pray to be freed from the dictates of your emotions and fleshly impulses.

 29. Sanctuary – “Until I came to the sanctuary of God; then I perceived their end” (Psalms 73:17). God seeks worshipers who worship Him in spirit and truth. Make time to be in His presence and hear Him speak to you through Scripture and prayer. He will grant you the understanding for what really matters in life.

30. Sustenance – In faithfulness to the Lord, we experience His care for our lives. For when losses occur because of the preservation of biblical principles, the Lord is faithful to provide for His children. Second Chronicles 25:9 says: “The Lord has more to give you than this.” Lord, help us to be prudent and avoid corruption and easy gain.

31. Peace – Bills to pay, irritations at work, tasks to complete, so many reasons lead to stress and the reaction in front of loved ones can be an explosion. Proverbs 15:1 reminds us: “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Since the Lord lives in me, may I respond in the Spirit and not from the motivation of the flesh.
