- Decision – “Do not be angry because of evildoers, nor envy those who do
iniquity. Wait on the Lord and walk in his ways; he will exalt you so that you will
inherit the land; the salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; he is their
strength in times of trouble. The Lord helps them and delivers them.”
(Psalms 37:1.34.39.40) - Worship – “How lovely are your tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!”
(Psalms 84:1) Men, are the spiritual leaders of their homes and called to set an
example and be with their families in the house of worship. – Lord, I pray that the
love for You and the joy to fellowship with other believers be strengthened in
the heart of every Christian man. - Position – A correct understanding of the Lord’s Word leads to a pleasant
and harmonious married life. The recipe is found in Ephesians 5.25 – “Husbands,
let each of you love his wife, just as Christ also loved the church and gave himself
up for her.” Lord, free us from our selfishness, make us to men who love our wife
with your love. - Directions – The GPS, (Global Positioning System) allows us to find
direction and addresses and has become increasingly popular. And yet so many
people still need to discover the final route in life. The Bible is God’s GPS to find
eternal life. Learn how to use it. “Your word is a lamp to my feet; it is a light to
my paths.” (Psalms 119:105) - Just a call away – “Call upon me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you and
you will honor Me” (Psalms 50:15). When we lay our impossibilities into the
almighty hand of God, He will act. He wants to change our affliction and concern
in relief and times of praise. - Sacrifice of Praise – “He who offers sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me;
and to him who orders his way aright I shall show the salvation of God”
(Psalms 50:23). Giving thanks to God even before we can see His solution will
strengthen our love and trust in Him. God will not put to shame those who wait
for Him. (Psalms 25:3) - Mercy – “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful” (Luke 6:36) As God
deals with us so should we deal with others. This is key to renew and strengthen
relationships. Be a man who sees others through the eyes if God. He loves them
and wants us to demonstrate His love to them. - Administrator – “Do business with this until I come back” (Luke19:13b). All
our possessions are entrusted to us by God. We should enjoy them, use, and
invest them in God’s Kingdom as good and faithful administrators. - Honor – Husband, be considerate and show your wife honor for she has the
same part of the gift of life as you do. Your praying together should not be
hindered. As you are a blessing to your wife you bring honor to God. (1Peter 3:7) - Transformation – The Holy Spirit is eager to transform you into the image
of Jesus Christ, but you have the power to decide how much influence the Holy
Spirit will have on your life. Pray that you will be able to give your creator enough
space in your life to transform you into His image. (Ephesians 5:18) - Prayer – Right before Jesus was betrayed by Judas, he prayed for his disciples
and for all future believers. (John 17:20). Pray today that more people will find
Jesus as their Saviour and Lord and pray that He will help you being a good
ambassador for the Kingdom. - Fellowship – It is impossible to make a fire with only one piece of wood.
You need several pieces to make a fire. Likewise, we need each other as
followers of Christ. Give thanks to the Lord for the opportunity of having
spiritual fellowship with fellow believers. (Acts 2:42) - Answer to prayer – If you ask Jesus to save your neighbour, be aware that
our Lord might ask you to go visit him or her on His behalf. Give Him thanks
today that you, as a follower of Jesus Christ, are found worthy to act as His
hands and feet in the world until He returns. (Isaiah 52:7) - To lead – We men have been privileged of leading our families. Pray that
Christian men will learn to yield to the abiding life of Christ (John 15) and allow
His life to flow into even the smallest matters of personal integrity, that we may
lead our families by example in private as well as in public, for His glory. - Temptations – They come in all shapes and sizes, from what we consider
“big sins” to what some label as “little sins”. Pray to be as sensitive to
insignificant “little lies” as much as pornography and corporate theft. Jesus said:
“He that is faithful in little is faithful in much, he that is unjust in little is unjust in
much.” (Luke 16:10) - Character – True character is who we really are in private. Pray to be
consistent in private as well as in public, that your life will not be
compartmentalized but that you will live for the eyes of the Lord. God said to
Abraham: “Walk before Me and be perfect (mature, complete).” (Genesis 17:1) - Worrying – Many men worry. Fear set in as we see unemployment rates
rise, inflation increase, and as age approaches. Pray that you will cultivate a
strong faith in the Lord as your Provider. While working hard and doing all you
can to maintain a good work ethic and spending habits, trust first in the Lord.
(Matthew 6:25-34) - A good Name – Integrity and character are built over time but can be
destroyed overnight. Value and protect the investments God has made into your
life. Pray and be watchful to maintain a “good name” which is more to be valued
than great riches. (Proverbs 22:1) - Attitude – “Heavenly Father, it is hard to be thankful when there are so
many negative things in the world. Nevertheless, Your will is for me to give
thanks in all things. Therefore, since I am in union with Christ, I ask You to cause
me to be thankful. I trust You to enable me to handle whatever comes my way.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:18) - Patience – “Oh Lord, too often I have become impatient. I confess, that in
my impatience, I have tried to make things work by my human efforts but,
inevitably I fail. However, Your Word tells me that I should pray and then simply
do Your will. Please, cause me to step out boldly by faith as Your Spirit leads.”
(Hebrews 10:35-36) - Perfect Timing – “Dear Lord, sometimes I have been early and other times
I have been late, but You are always on time. Lead me by Your Spirit to go when
You say to go, to stop when You say to stop and to wait when You say to wait.
Thank You, Lord, for enabling me to move with Your perfect timing!”
(Galatians 4:4) - A call to Worship – “Dear God, as the sovereign ruler of the universe, You
alone are worthy of worship. I trust You to enable me to worship you in spirit and
in truth. Cause me to worship You not only with my words, but also with my
actions. Grant me the grace to willingly, instantly, and completely follow Your
Spirit’s leading.” (Matthew 2:1-2) - From Anger to Righteousness – “Dear God, everywhere I turn people are
angry— me included. I understand that human wrath is not a solution. I repent
of my human responses of anger, rage and wrath. I reject them in Jesus’ name.
Cause me to have a righteous response to all of the negatives.” (James 1:20) - Effective – “The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much”
(James 5:16b) God wants for us to participate in His work. He invites us to pray
for His Spirit’s leading in how we should pray. He will hear such prayer! - The fear of God – “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.
To Him be the glory forever. Amen!” (Romans 11:36). To the extent that we
emerge ourselves in the Word of God we will also marvel about His might and
holiness. Allow for the awe and the deep fear of God to help you fully surrender
to Him. - Love of enemies – “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those
who persecute you…” (Matthew 5:44). To do this is humanly speaking
impossible. But Jesus demonstrated how such love works. When we are
connected in Him, His power will enable us to obey God’s will and also love our
enemies. - Wealth – “Beware and be on your guard against any form of greed; for not
even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions” (Luke
12:15). So many times, has the distribution of an inheritance pitted brothers
against each other, because of greed. Allow for the story Jesus told to be a
warning for you as well. - Self-dominion – “That each of you should learn to control his own body in
a way that is holy and honorable…” (1Thessalonians 4:4). Jesus was man like us
but victorious over temptation, because He surrendered to God. We to can
withstand the onslaught of temptation and control our impulses, by willingly
submitting to Him. - Consider – “Consider the work of God, for who is able to straighten what
He has bent? In the day of prosperity be happy, but in the day of adversity
consider. God has made the one as well as the other…” (Ecclesiastes 7:14). The
ultimate purpose of our life is to live for God. Therefore pray to always stay close
to Him no matter what. - War – “You will be hearing of wars and rumors of war. See that you are not
frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end”
(Matthew 24:6). The world events prove that the return of Christ is imminent.
Therefore, let us focus more than ever on our coming Lord and serve Him
faithfully with great joy.
