1. Pray for the husband and father who faces great challenges in trying to support his family. Pray that he will display a steadfast trust in the Lord for his wife and children to witness. (Dan. 3:17-18)
2. Fathers sometimes struggle to build relationships with their teenage daughters. Pray that fathers will be intentional in developing respectful and loving relationships with their daughters. (Eph. 6:4)
3. Too many men believe Satan’s lie that their sin affects only themselves. Pray that God will reveal to them how their sin can negatively impact their families for generations. (Num. 14:18)
4. Pray that husbands and fathers will keep their families before the Lord in prayer to protect them from Satan’s attacks. (1 Pet. 5:8)
5. Heavenly Father, when I look back over my life, I realize there were times that I did things for selfish purposes. Furthermore, I took the credit for my accomplishments. But now I see how prideful that was. I have been guilty of catering to my fleshly appetites and exalting myself. I confess the sin of pride, and I reject pride in Jesus name! (Dan. 4:30-31, 37)
6. Oh Lord, as I go through life, there are times that it seems so very dark. I don’t know where to go or what to do. But you said that you are the light of the world. Therefore, I purpose to follow you by walking by faith, not by sight. I ask you to shine your light on my life. Guide me in the way everlasting. Thank you for giving me the light of life! (John 8:12)
7. Lord Jesus, I have been trying so hard to go in the right direction and do the right thing. I thought if I just memorized enough Scriptures, understood sound doctrine and embraced biblical morality I would be OK. But I realize that I have been relying on my own understanding to produce my own light. You are the source of light. So I give myself to you and trust you to shine your light through me. (Isa. 50:10-11)
8. Dear God, I thought I had it all figured out. I know what the Bible teaches, and I believe it completely. But there is a vast difference between knowing what is right and doing what is right. My light has really been darkness, and I have actually been walking in darkness. Cause me to walk in the light of your life so that I can truly do what is right. (Matt. 6:23)
9. Do you have a heart for missions – a desire to see other people giving their lives to Christ? If not, pray that God will give you a new heart. (Ezek. 36:26)
10. The key to succeed as a Christian is to keep your eyes focused on Jesus. And don’t forget: He will never take his eyes off you. Give thanks to God that he has promised to never fail you nor forsake you (1 Chron. 28:20).
11. God wants you to succeed as his follower, and his promises to you last forever. Make sure to keep your promises to him as well (1 Cor. 15:58).
12. As followers of Christ, we are supposed to spread a fragrance of him wherever we go. The more time we spend together with Jesus, the stronger the fragrance will be. Pray that you will spread a wonderful fragrance of our Lord and Savior to the people you encounter. (2 Cor. 2:14-15)
13. Are you longing to see people surrendering their lives to Christ? Thank God that his desire to see people on their knees is even stronger than yours! (1 Tim. 2:4)
14. Guilt and condemnation are weights that rob men of joy and freedom. Because of Christ’s finished work on the cross, God’s invitation is liberating. “‘Come now, and let us reason together,’ says the Lord; ‘though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool’” (Isa. 1:18).
15. Spiritual champions need to receive and reflect God’s love. His loving kindness toward us is personal and eternal. “The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: ‘Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you’” (Jer. 31:3).
16. We continue to pray for those who hold office in the government. They need to recognize their accountability to God and their need for divine wisdom. The prophet Daniel declared, “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those who have understanding” (Dan. 2:20, 21).
17. We pray that those who hear the gospel broadcasts will discover that nothing the world offers can bring lasting fulfillment. But in Christ we find God’s provision for our ultimate needs. “And Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst’” (John 6:35).
18. Society’s opinions and values will constantly try to press us into the world’s mold. Therefore, we need to pray for a resolute commitment to be true to our calling as redeemed ones. “Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen” (Gal. 1:3-5).
19. Jesus told his disciples that only the good soil of the heart will produce lasting fruit (Matt. 13:8). Ask the Lord to prepare your heart; to make you understand and do his will; to be ready to pay the cost of discipleship; to stop worrying about life; and to be free from the deceitfulness of wealth.
20. Jesus told his disciples about the weed in the field that the enemy sowed overnight, indicating that authentic and fake Christianity will exist side by side until he comes again (Matt. 13:24-30). Pray for the Lord to grant you a vibrant spiritual life, and be tolerant when you observe the imperfections in his church.
21. Jesus told the parable of the mustard seed (Matt. 13:31-32) to indicate that even the smallest beginnings in the kingdom of God are a blessing for this world and have eternal impact. Pray to be faithful in whatever the Lord has entrusted to you. He even wants to reward you for what may now seem like little things.
22. Jesus told the parable of the treasure hidden in the field and the joy and positive response of the man who found it (Matt. 13:44). Pray for God to open your eyes to recognize the treasure of his love and grace for you. Be willing to surrender your will to him and take possession of his eternal promises for you.
23. Jesus told the parable of the merchant who was looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went and sold everything he had so he could buy that pearl (Matt. 13:45). Pray for discernment and a mind and heart fixed on the values of the kingdom of God so that you will know when, where and how to best invest your life.
24. Are there any hidden sins in your life? If so, you are undoubtedly spiritually crippled! Should this be the case, you must humble yourself before the Lord and confess your trespasses to him – and eventually also to people around you who are be involved. (Isaiah 1:18)
25. Even the most dedicated and faithful followers of Jesus will occasionally do things, say things or at least think things that require a humble confession before God – and sometimes before people. Pray that God will help you to quickly get back on your feet again whenever you fall. (2 Cor. 7:1)
26. If you are a spiritual leader, be aware that you are even more vulnerable to spiritual attacks. Pray for God’s protection over your mind, body, family and ministry. And praise God that the Holy Spirit is interceding for you. (Rom. 8:26)
27. No matter how hard you try, you will never succeed in arguing another person into the kingdom of God. Only the Holy Spirit can persuade a person to become a follower of Christ (John 16:8). But thank God that he allows you to cooperate with him in fulfilling the Great Commission.
28. The evil one tries in various ways to steal our spirits and our energy as Christians. Confess every day that you belong to Christ, with all your possessions, and pray that God will give you the strength to stand firm in your faith. (1 Cor. 16:13)
29. Jesus is the perfect example of a godly man. Pray for men to be intentional about studying the life of Jesus and be in submission to his life within so he may live in and through us. (John 15)
30. Pray for men to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ instead of relying upon their own strength or ability. (2 Pet. 3:18)
31. Pray for men to be faithful witnesses not only in public but also in their homes. Our loved ones’ eyes must see consistency in us, not perfection, and faithfulness must be a part of that consistency. (Eph. 5:23-33)
