Prayer Points for January 2025

  1. Pray – “Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you” (Luke 6:28). Impossible to do that with our own strength. But Jesus in us can change us into men of peace.
  2. My – “The Lord is my shepherd” (Psalms 23:1a). The word “my” makes all the difference. This is why my trust in God grows. This is how he can guide my life on a good path and take care of me. This is the reason I follow Him gladly.
  3. Good works – “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10). God leads us daily into circumstances He has prepared for us. Let’s be attentive and do the good work that awaits us there.
  4. Money -“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs” (1 Timothy 6:10). We are only administrators of the possessions God entrusted us with. Therefore man, watch your priorities.
  5. Marriage – “Husbanas, in the same way, be considerate as you live with your wives and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers” (Peter 3:7). Husband, accept your God-given role and bless your family by fulfilling your priestly duty.
  6. Gift – It’s nice to receive gifts. Some people react differently when they receive a gift. Others even reject what is offered. John 3:16 says that God, in his love, gave the greatest and best gift, His only Son, so that the world might be saved through him. Accept Jesus as your Savior and enjoy eternal life with him!
  7. For life – The culture of today’s world has propagated many ideas about marriage, relativizing and trivializing the conjugal relationship. The Bible teaches that God unites in marriage and that marriage is a permanent relationship for life (1 Corinthians 7:39). Man, with God’s help your marriage can reflect the joy of true partnership.
  8. Discipleship – In his last meeting with his disciples, Jesus commissioned them to make disciples, with the remark: “Teaching them to obey everything | have commanded you” (Matthew 28.20). Be a father who encourages his children to follow the Lord through his exemplary life.
  9. Purpose -“He brought me out of a pit of destruction, out of a mire; he set my feet on a rock, he made my steps firm” (Psalms 40.2). A life without Jesus is messy, unstable, and as dirty as a mud pit. Therefore, trust Jesus! He will give your life, hope, and a clear purpose. With Him, you go forward securely and firmly, like walking on a rock!
  10. Wisdom- Investing safely, saving for difficult times, and spending wisely are biblical principles for a healthy financial life. “There is always precious treasure and oil in a wise man’s house, but a foolish man wastes it” (Proverbs 21:20). It’s not the much, nor the little, but the wise use of the goods and values that reveal true wiscom!
  11. Plans – The start of a new year brings the possibility of reviewing objectives, drawing up plans, and stipulating what you want to achieve in the coming months. Remember that God’s plan and thoughts are always higher than ours. “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails”. (Proverbs 19:21)
  12. Justified – “Dear God, life seems so unfair. Everywhere I turn I see injustice. Then I turn to You and look at the cross. There, You, the just suffered for me the unjust, You the righteous for the unrighteous. You became our justifier. I have been justified through Christ. I am now the righteousness of God in Christ. Hallelujah!”. (2Corinthians 5:21)
  13. Everlasting Father-“Almighty God, this old world and everything in it is falling apart. Nothing seems to last. It is so frustrating that I sometimes fee like giving up. And then I look at You. You are the everlasting God. Thank you for enabling me to endure hardness as a good soldier of Christ!” (Isaiah 40:28)
  14. All-knowing – “Dear God, I never seem to know what I need to know when I need to know it. Only You, Oh God, are all-knowing. Therefore, I give up trying to figure things out. I turn to Christ who is my knowledge, my wisdom, and my understanding. I yield to You to make known to me what I need to know. (Acts 15:18)
  15. Treasure Trove – “Thank You, Lord, for the amazing treasure of Your indwelling presence! All knowledge and wisdom are contained in You. I acknowledge You as the source of my knowledge and wisdom. Therefore, I trust you to make known to me what need to know, when I need to know it.(Colossians 2:2.3)
  16. God is good – “Lord Jesus, thank you for showing us that God is good, by going about doing good. Through faith, You have given me new life, Your life Thank You! I have experienced your goodness for myself. Cause me now to do good to others, even as you have done good unto me”. (Psalms 119:68)
  17. Stubbornness – “A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed without remedy”(Proverbs 29:1). Man beware of resisting the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. He wants to lead you to repentance. Don’t be stubborn rather submit in obedience to God. He gives grace to the humble.
  18. Hidden Treasure -“The kingdom of God is like treasure hidden in a field… a man found it… in his joy went and sold all that he had and bought that field” (Matthew 13:44). If you have found jesus, you have found the greatest treasure. He can fulfill your greatest desires. Pay the price! Live for Him and His Kingdom only
  19. Hardheartedness – “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your heart” (Hebrews 3:15). Free will is God’s gift to mankind. We can make our own choices! Nobody can block our hearts from hearing, but only sin and ourselves Therefore, be attentive and soften up if you hear God’s call. He wants to bless. and to lead you.
  20. Gentle Answer – “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger” (Proverbs 15:1). Stress, frustration and lack of self-control lead easily to confrontation and harsh words. Know yourself and train your mind and emotions as you submit your will in obedience to Christ, who is meek and humble in heart.
  21. Pride – “Young men be submissive to those who are older. All of you close yourselves with humility toward one another because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” (1 Peter 5:5.6). Be determined to live out God’s standard, even if it is counterculture. What counts in the end is what the Lord rewards.
  22. Isolation – “He who separates himself seeks his own desire; he quarrels against all sound wisdom” (Proverbs 18:1). If you have been disappointed by others, you are in danger of isolating yourself. Allow for God to change that. He has created us for relationship with Him and others. Be willing to forgive and to love the Lord and your tellow man.
  23. Goodness – “The good man out of the treasure of his heart brings forth what is good” (Luke 6:45). We need to be born again and to receive the new heart the Bible speaks about. Man, make the difference! Allow for Jesus Christ to change your heart and start living through faith in Him. Then you will bless your world with goodness.
  24. Self-will – “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me” (Luke 9:23), Discipleship is the daily surrender of the will to Jesus Christ. The cross reminds us that our old nature died with Christ. He enables us now to follow Him and to live as children of God.
  25. Rest -“Come unto Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and My burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30). Say “yes” to the Lord’s offer, learn from Him, and
  26. Profit – “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul” (Mark 8:36)? We men easily connect success with short-term profit. But wise men think long-term! Our time on planet Earth is limited. What we can gain in this world is short-lived. The Lord calls us to reconsider our priorities and invest for eternal profit.
  27. Outnumbered -“For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:14). God loves the world, even though few love Him back. He invites all to come to Jesus, but only a small number surrender in faith to the Savior. The multitude will never be right. Be willing to be outnumbered with God.
  28. Rebellion – “Therefore you and all your company are gathered together against the Lord” (Numbers 16:11)? Korah rebelled because he considered the service to God like a democracy. He wanted a say. Remember Christ, the head of the Church wants to lead the Church by His Spirit, not through might or power, nor majority rule.
  29. Dignity – “Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she smiles at the future” (Proverbs 31:25). A woman that is truly loved by her husband and able to develop all her God-given potential is an amazing blessing to her family. That was God’s intent when he created Eve as a helper suitable to Adam. Man, learn how to love your wife
  30. Sacrificial love – “Husbands love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her” (Ephesians 5:25). Man, we better be honest and confess our inability to fulfill this biblical command. Therefore, let’s allow for Christ to live His life through us. His sacrificial love will also transform our marriages into paradise.
  31. Deliverance is near -“When these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, your redemption is drawing near” (Luke 21:28), As global tension increase, and natural catastrophes are on the rise don’t fear for the Kingdom of God is near. Pray to be ready to stand before the Son of Man when He comes back.
