- Effective prayer – “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed” (James 5:16). When God’s Spirit convicts us lets be ready to humbly confess our faults. This will bring healing into our relationships. Be always willing to obey. God wants to impact your family through your prayers.
- Holding back judgment – “What if only ten can be found there? He answered: For the sake of ten I will not destroy it.” (Genesis 18:32″) God promised to hold back his judgement if he found 10 righteous people in Sodom and Gomorrah. Man, if you and I are wrapped in the righteousness of Christ, we can make the difference!
- Crisis prayer – “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). God still appeals for His people to make a difference. Pray for the healing of our land.
- Turning away -“I take no pleasure in the death of the wicket, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn..” (Ezekiel 33:11). The cross. demonstrates the terrifying holiness of God, but also His amazing grace. Praise God that His love is enough, and that forgiveness is available for anyone who turns away from sin.
- Rapidly – “Pray that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you” (2 Thessalonians 3:1). The core problem of our world is sin, turning away from God. The solution for mankind is neither political nor economical, rather spiritual. The Gospel is God’s answer. Be a messenger of the Good News today.
- Intentionally – “You will seek me and find me when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13). Life is full of distractions, and many are the offers to find fulfillment in life. But if your crisis is of a spiritual nature and you want a real answer, learn to pray intentionally to the One who is the answer and waits for you to come.
- Heartily – “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men” (Colossians 3:23). Mankind lives, moves and exists through God’s sustaining power. We were created in His image and to serve Him heartily. Be a man who allows for the Lord to inspire, lead, and use you in whatever you do.
- Lukewarm – If you adopt what is convenient, have no profound conviction of your own rather go with the flow, and seek to be politically correct, then please consider. Christ doesn’t accept that kind of attitude. He warns in Revelations 3:16 “So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.”
- Don’t forget – “Watch yourself, that you do not forget the Lord who brought you from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.” (Deuteronomy 6:12). Comfort and success easily lead to complacency, an uncritical satisfaction with oneself. Man, be thankful for Gods blessings, watch your priorities and serve Him with gladness.
- Never give up – The Lord cares for you. “God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way to escape also, so that you will be able to endure it” (1 Corinthians 10:13). Even if it seems hopeless, never give up, rather surrender in faith and experience His presence.
- Seeking God – Cultivating a heightened awareness of God’s presence is not a regular habit for most men. We are occupied and distracted by too many things. Pray for men to crave and practice awareness of God’s friendship. God said to Abraham, “Walk before Me and be though perfect (blameless).” Genesis 17:1
- Walk with God – Developing an ongoing conversation with God can become a holy occupation no matter what we are doing. The Bible says: “Enoch walked with God” (Genesis 5:24). Walking with God can become a type of 4th dimension to our existence and is necessary for godly character development. Learn to truly walk with God.
- Focus on the inner Man – Intentionally working on personal character is not something many men prioritize. But this focus on the inner man is essentia for growth in Christlikeness. It can be achieved only through the abiding Life. Jesus said, without Me, you can do nothing. Lear how to abide in Christ. (John 15:5)
- Favor with God – “My reputation is what others think I am; my character is who God knows lam” (D.L. Moody). Pray that men will seek less the approva of others and cherish more the favor of God. If I focus on God grooming my character, then I won’t need to worry about my reputation, it will take care of itself. (Colossians 3:12)
- Authentic discipleship – “If you want to know if I am a Christian, don’t ask me and don’t ask my church, ask my wife.” And yet, it’s possible to deceive even our wives that we are following Christ. Pray for men to come clean, confess, truly follow Christ in the private moments of life, not only when others are watching. (Matthew 23:28)
- How to pray – “For we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words (Ro 8:25). When we earnestly seek to communicate with God, His Spirit will guide our prayer. Therefore, be ready to start anytime.
- Take time – “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart…” (Deuteronomy 6:5). The way I spend my time will reveal my priorities. My lo e to God is also revealed through the time I spend in studying His Word and the time I take to pray. Be willing to improve in these areas.
- Philadelphia – “Fervently love one another from the heart” (1 Peter 1:22). The meaning of Philadelphia is brotherly love. Several places in the world remind us of the meaning of this name. Brotherly love is like a key to a life that encourages faith in jesus. Become a symbol for Philadelphia yourself
- Doing good– “And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased” (Hebrews 13:16). As Christians we are just administrators of the good entrusted to us. If we are willing to invest them accordingly to do good, we to will be richly blessed.
- Regards – “But with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves” (Philippians 2:3b). Men and women received von God different roles and abilities. The mutual respect is key for a harmonious marriage as it is key for success in any other relationship as well.
- Actions – 1 Corinthians 3:12 reminds us that our investment in the Kingdom will be tested whether it lasts or not (V. 13). This concerns the spiritual investment we make in obedience to Christ and as we serve other people starting with our family. Be willing to invest in a way that the results be permanent. Lord, nelp me to do this!
- Differences – Two men went to church together, but for different purposes. Jesus illustrates this in the parable in Luke 18:9-14. One performed religious rites, the other humbled himself and had an encounter with God. Let’s make a difference and be honest with the Lord. The fruit of this attitude will be visible in everyday life.
- Goals – In all areas of life, men are challenged to achieve and surpass goals. Some are simpler, others more complicated. In marriage, the Bible sets a high goal, namely that of being faithful (see Matthew 19:8.9). The permanence of marriage has been relativized, but the biblical principle remains unchanged. Lord, help me to be faithful.
- Inheritance – The relationship between fathers and their children is very significant. In Genesis 22 the Lord asks Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac whom he loved. Abraham obeyed with courage and trust. To leave a good spiritual inheritance to our children, they need to be involved in our experiences with the Lord.
- Provision – Difficult times can arise at any time and in every family. Joseph, in Egypt, prepared the people for times of trouble, when there was still plenty (Genesis 41), Man, help your family to make provisions when it is possible, so that the crisis won’t be so bitter! Lord, thank you for the wisdom to manage my family’s assets!
- Simplicity – We often struggle with pride and feelings of superiority, like the Commander Naaman in 2 Kings 5. He was first confronted by a child, then by the prophet, and later even his servants. But only when he humbled himself and accepted the simple truth of his sickness, did he experience God’s healing power.
- Direction – We man don’t like to be given direction. Whatever the reason, be it pride or the need to know better, be willing to consider. Don’t lose time by trying to trail you own way. You need to arrive at the right destination, Jesus said: “Iam the the way, and the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father but through Me”. (John 14:6)
- Protection – “The Lord will protect you from evil; He will keep your soul” (Psalms 121:7). Difficulties will come and health and material possessions can be lost. The Lord reminds us that our true value is our essence, our soul. Whatever your present lot, trust Him. Allow Him to protect you from doubts, bitterness and from the evil one
