1. God gave victory to the people of Israel when they were attacked by Amalek (Exod. 17:11-13). As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning. Pray that God will remind you to fight your own spiritual battles with the right weapons. (2 Cor. 10:4)
2. When you win your spiritual battles, don’t forget to give God the honor and praise that he deserves. (Exod. 14:14)
3. Lack of trust in God caused the Israelites to wander 40 years in the desert before they entered the Promised Land. Pray that you will always trust in him so he will not have to send you on a spiritual journey through the desert. (Ps. 62:8)
4. When you stay close to God, he has promised to stay close to you as well. Thank him and give him praise! (James 4:8)
5. One of the less-known heroes from the Old Testament is Enoch. But a wonderful thing is said about him: “Enoch walked with God” (Gen. 5:24). Pray that God will help you to live your life like Enoch.
6. God rejoices over us because we are his children (Zeph. 3:17). Allow the joy and thankfulness for God’s love and grace to permeate your thinking and feeling today.
7. Pray that men will follow God’s example and make the effort to celebrate big and small accomplishments and blessings with their families. (Zech. 4:10)
8. Wives and children thrive in an environment where they feel free from physical or emotional threats. Pray that fathers will demonstrate godly control over their emotions. (Matt. 5:5)
9. After a divorce, many men do not support their children financially to the level they should. Some don’t provide financial support at all. Pray that God will stir their hearts to provide the necessary financial support for their children. (1 Tim. 5:8)
10. Children, particularly sons, will imitate their father’s actions and words. Pray that fathers will model faithful obedience to God in all circumstances. (Ps. 15:4)
11. One of a husband’s greatest challenges is when a wife’s faith wavers. Pray that these men will stay faithful to their Lord and draw their wives back to God. (Job 2:9-10)
12. Oh Lord, sometimes I feel so alone. It seems like everyone has abandoned me. I do not feel like you are there either. But then you remind me that you are with me. More than that, you are in me! Therefore, I am a mighty man of valor. My strength and courage come from you. (Judg. 6:12)
13. Dear God, I have become so weary. Where is the “rest” that the Bible talks about? I realize I have been so busy working for you that I have been unable to rest in you. You instruct me to believe so that I can rest. I believe, Lord. Now work through me as I rest in you. (Heb. 4:3)
14. Lord Jesus, you have made life so simple. You have justified me and made me righteous in you so that I can live through you. Therefore, I give up trying to live for you. By faith I trust you to live your life through me. Now I am truly living by the faith of the Son of God! (Rom. 1:17)
15. Dear Lord, I confess that I have been looking in the wrong direction. I have been looking to the government, other people and even myself to meet my needs. But I repent. I now look to you, Lord Jesus Christ. You are the author of my faith. You began the good work in me, and you alone can be the finisher of my faith. (Heb. 12:2)
16. Prayer cultivates an attitude of joy and praise. “Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; And let those who love Your salvation say continually, ‘Let God be magnified!’ ” (Ps. 70:4). Our motive in intercession is to glorify God through our worship.
17. Peter said to the lame man, “‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.’ And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and anklebones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them –walking, leaping, and praising God” (Acts 3:6-8). Pray that you, too, may offer people hope and an abundant spiritual life in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
18. The prophet Daniel served in the royal courts of Babylon and Medo-Persia. What was the secret to this champion’s success and integrity? “Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed [the king’s edict forbidding prayer to the true God], he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days” (Dan. 6:1-5).
19. We pray for men of God to discern his will and ways and to live a good and fruitful life. “For this reason we … do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Col. 1:9-10).
20. The Christian life is no walk in the park. The prince of this world attacks those who believe in Christ as their redeemer. Pray to always remember the ultimate truth, that Jesus has forever overcome and exposed the Evil One. “Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth …” (Eph. 6:14a).
21. Our heart is very vulnerable and easily deceived. Don’t trust in your own good intentions and efforts. Rather, believe in the redemptive work of Christ, who saves you. “Having put on the breastplate of righteousness …” (Eph. 6:14b).
22. The good news of Scripture is this: that through Christ, men can have peace with God. Don’t try to make this into a belligerent kind of religious doctrine. Rather, pray to be a joyous spokesman for Christ. “And having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace …” (Eph. 6:15).
23. To be able to protect our mind and emotions from outside pressures, accusations and doubts that the Enemy hurls our way, we need to be strong on the inside. Because Christ resides in the believer, we are able to “take the shield of faith with which we are able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one” (Eph. 6:16).
24. The mind is the avenue to the heart. If you have trusted Christ as your savior and surrendered your will to him, you can know with confidence that you are on the victor’s side, whatever the circumstances. Therefore, “take the helmet of salvation” (Eph. 6:17). Pray to be able to take your thoughts captive under the obedience of Christ.
25. There is one spiritual weapon the devil fears more than anything, and that is the Word of God. It is “the sword of the Spirit” (Eph. 6:17b). Pray to become a student of the Word. Memorize scripture and learn to apply it as you go through your day. This way, you will overcome temptation and become a mighty man of God.
26. Prayer is our lifeline. Through prayer we are connected to the God of the universe and have part in his dealings in the world – “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for the saints” (Eph. 6:18).

29. Today’s means of instant communication facilitate growing conflicts between different worldviews, values and interests. Compromise has become a key word as world leaders seek mutually acceptable solutions. Pray for Christians in government to be wise and authentic in their witness as agents of the gospel of peace. (Matt. 5:14-16)
30. As in the days of the early church, Christians are being persecuted for their faith. The Open Doors World Watch List reports that 215 million Christians are experiencing high levels of persecution. That equates to 1 in 12 Christians suffering from persecution. Pray for the persecuted church. Pray for the Lord to draw these believers to look to him and to not lose hope. (Heb. 12:1-2)
31. Pray for men and women in government to understand that the fear of the Lord is true wisdom. In the end they will give account to Christ, before whom every knee will bow. Pray for the spread of the gospel today. Pray for pastors and leaders in the Christian community to be humble and faithful in their witness. (Dan. 12:3)
