1. Oh Lord, I was a hopeless, helpless sinner. Yet you invited me to receive Christ so that I might become a child of God. Therefore, because I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, I receive you into my life as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, God, for the amazing honor of being made your child through Christ Jesus my Lord (John 1:12).
2. Dear Lord, I once thought that believing took place in my head, but now I know it involves my heart. You are spirit, and I must therefore receive you into my heart, into my spirit. So I believe with my heart by receiving you and gladly saying that Jesus Christ is now my Lord. And each day I will continue to believe you with my whole heart and trust you with my whole life. Cause me to agree with your Word regardless of what I think or feel (Romans 10:9-10).
3. Heavenly Father, I realize that according to your Word, the law of the heavenly kingdom is the law of faith. Enable me to live like Abraham, the father of faith. Cause me to live in dependency upon you by speaking the word of faith as Father Abraham did. Grant me the grace to walk by faith and not by sight (Romans 3:27, 4:17).
4. Lord Jesus, your way is the way of faith. King David boldly declared what he believed to be true. Cause me to have that same spirit of faith so that I can boldly say whatever you show me and then trust you to bring it to pass. Cause me to live by faith in the confident assurance that whatever you say you will do (2 Corinthians 4:13).
5. Men often feel lonely and isolated. Pray for men to develop trusting relationships with other men in which they can be honest and transparent with their struggles, as were David and Jonathan (1 Samuel 18).
6. Godly mentoring is a huge need today. Pray for men to be intentional about pursuing mentoring relationships with other men and to openly share and evaluate their walk with God and be regular in their times of interaction (2 Timothy 2:2).
7. Pray for men who do not have mentors to desire establishing such relationships and then to be acceptant and teachable in the process (Matthew 5:5, 11:29).
8. Jesus always sent the disciples on various errands in twos, never alone. Pray for men to find faithful brothers who can walk this journey of faith with them in transparent, godly brotherhood (Mark 6:7, Ecclesiastes 4:10).
9. Pray for each man to find and be faithful to a Christian men’s fellowship. Pray that he will find and be ready to offer spiritual encouragement to others as well (Hebrews 10:25).
10. Our world is full of obstacles, distractions and temptations. Strong discipline is therefore essential for spiritual growth. Pray that we as Christian men will be willing to invest enough time alone with the Lord to allow him to transform our mind-set (2 Corinthians 13:13).
11. A Christian leader is always under attack in one way or another. Pray for practical and spiritual protection for pastors and other Christian leaders (1 Timothy 2:2).
12. The purpose for our lives is to give glory to God – and to invite others into his holy presence. Pray that we will succeed in this! (John 15:8).
13. Hidden sin and sinful habits will effectively prevent a Christian from growing in faith and sanctification. Pray that God will create a pure heart in you and renew a steadfast spirit within you (Psalm 51:10).
14. God is looking for faithful and honest disciples who are willing to give themselves to him. Yes, themselves – not just tithes and offerings! Pray to make Proverbs 3:5-6 your life motto.
15. On June 5, 2017, the TWR international board voted unanimously to bring Lonnie Berger and the ministry of Every Man A Warrior under the umbrella of TWR alongside Champions Arise. Lonnie Berger will be the global director of TWR Men’s Ministry. Pray for wisdom and direction as Lonnie oversees the transition of EMAW’s ministry to TWR and moves to Cary, North Carolina, in December 2017.
16. Several years ago, an African brother from Mozambique asked this challenging question. “Why doesn’t TWR have programs for men? We men need so much help!” Out of this challenge came the TWR program Champions Arise. The first 20 programs of the series are based on the Every Man a Warrior curriculum. Pray for men to be developed into spiritual leaders through the ministry of CA and EMAW.
17. Millions of Christian women have been praying for decades, “God, please help the men. Teach them to be better husbands, better fathers and the spiritual leaders of their families.” The TWR ministry of Champions Arise and Every Man A Warrior address these issues. Pray that men will be drawn to the Champions Arise broadcast, discuss the programs and put into practice the lessons learned.
18. Edmund Spieker and Lonnie Berger will spend 20 days in Brazil during the month of October to train and develop men in the use of the Every Man A Warrior curriculum. Pray that men and churches will be drawn to this training and that many groups will be formed to help train and develop men in Brazil to walk with God, succeed in life and spiritually multiply by making disciples of other men (Ephesians 6:19).
19. In 2 Corinthians 4:8, Paul confessed, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed but not in despair.” People in ministry sometimes face tremendous pressures and carry heavy burdens. Pray for the TWR staff around the world, that God would be their strength and that their hearts would have joy and peace as they broadcast the gospel message to those without Christ.
20. Heavenly Father, sometimes I feel so weak, my situation seems so hopeless and my faith seems so shallow. And then I consider your Word, and I am reminded that nothing is too hard for you. I ask you to grant me the grace to ignore human impossibilities. Instead, like Abraham, cause me to remain strong in faith in you. I give you the glory for the victory! (Romans 4:19-20).
21. Oh Lord, when my faith wavers, remind me of the truth. The object of my faith makes all the difference. Therefore, Lord Jesus, remind me that you are the true source of strength. Cause me to turn my focus away from my circumstances and myself and to focus on you alone. I know that all things are possible with you (Luke 7:6-9).
22. Dear God, before I met the Lord Jesus Christ I only wanted to please myself. But you changed my heart. Now my true heart’s desire is to please you. And I realize that doing so is possible only by faith. Therefore, I purpose to seek you with all my heart and trust you with all my life. I entrust my life to you and ask you to live your life through me (Hebrews 11:6).
23. Lord Jesus, I thought I had faith before you came into my life. But now I see that it was only wishful thinking, with much doubt and uncertainty. True faith comes from you alone. You are the author and finisher of my faith. Therefore, cause me to live by faith in total dependency upon you (Romans 14:22-23).
24. Dear Lord, the gospel of Christ is truly good news. But your Word makes it clear that I must believe to benefit from it. Your way is from “faith to faith.” I began the Christian life by putting my faith in Christ. Therefore, by faith I trust Christ to live his life through me. Now I am truly living – by faith! (Romans 1:16-17).
25. Take time to pray for the 65.6 million people in the world that The New York Times reports are displaced from their homes. In over 50 countries, Christians experience high, very high and extreme persecution. In 2016 about 90,000 Christians were killed for their faith, according to the Open Doors ministry. Pray for the followers of Jesus to focus on the promises of God and to live in holy conduct and godliness (2 Peter 3:13-14).
26. Human philosophies and ideologies dominate the political realm of nations. Biblical truth is being laughed at and fought against on so-called scientific grounds. Pray for a moral and spiritual awakening in your nation. Pray for God to raise up leaders who fear God and respect people’s personal freedom and conscientious choice (1 Timothy 2:1-4).
27. Sometimes we may feel unnoticed and unappreciated, but God sees our heart and is eager to bless our integrity: “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” (2 Chronicles 12:9).
28. As we pray against the Enemy’s schemes, we pray in the confident hope that we are on the victorious side. Revelation 11:15 predicts, “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.”
29. Although godless government causes many hardships, we trust in God’s overruling providence. “Daniel answered and said: ‘Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding'” (Daniel 2:20-21).
30. Through praise, thanksgiving and prayer we are reminded to be part of the solution instead of part of the problem. “Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord. … Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:19, 21).
31. Throughout the centuries, prayer has strengthened those who encounter hardships. “Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter. … Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator” (1 Peter 4:16,19).
